At what age should children start visiting the dentist?
Dental care should start as young as possible. We love helping children and families get familiar with the dentist and have a love for looking after their smile from a young age. We recommend starting dental exams for children as young as babies at 6 months when the first baby teeth erupt. We can give you advice on care while the baby is teething as well as detect problems early such as thumb sucking, which could lead to malalignment of the teeth as the child develops. Do I need health insurance before coming to Secret Harbour Dental?

Is dental treatment safe during pregnancy?
It’s a common misconception that pregnant women shouldn’t visit the dentist. Dental treatment & XRays are completely safe during pregnancy and do not pose a danger to the mother or baby. We do, however, recommend avoiding treatment if you’re experiencing a high-risk pregnancy. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to chat to our team of dentists who specialise in family friendly dentistry.
